Education and Information

Click "Resources" at the top of this page for more links!

Education and information efforts are directed at deepening understanding of the sanctity of human life and the humanity of unborn children, the moral evil of intentionally killing innocent human beings—whether at the beginning of life or at its end—and the mission of the Church to witness to and serve all human life.

The Respect Life Office offers programs that provide information and educational materials. These materials help deepen the understanding of the humanity of the unborn, the sanctity of human life, and the moral evil of abortion, embryonic stem cell research and human cloning, the death penalty, and euthanasia. These educational efforts help people understand the importance of witnessing on behalf of all human life in word and in action.

In order to interest people in joining the cause for life, it is necessary to bring the life issues to their conscious attention. Our community must be educated as to what is happening in all phases of life, how these atrocities will eventually lead to the further desecration of life, and what they can do to affect change in their parish and community.

The primary purpose of educational programs is the development of Respect Life attitudes. Pro-Life education should include the following:

+ Accurate information on all life issues
+ Responsibility toward human life
+ Respect and sensitivity toward human sexuality and reproduction

Education in all areas of the "sanctity of life" should be a part of the on-going educational efforts of each parish for all age groups. The Respect Life message can be spread through the activities listed throughout this website.
